Putin Praises Trump, Says Russia Is Ready for Dialogue
SOCHI, Russia (Reuters) -Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday congratulated Donald Trump on winning the U.S. election, praised him for showing courage when a gunman tried to assassinate him, and said Moscow was ready for dialogue with the Republican president-elect.
The president-elect finishes the US election with 312 electoral college votes, compared with Kamala Harris's 226.
"The U.S. ruling political elite adheres to anti-Russia principles and the policy of 'containing Moscow," Russia's MFA said.
